Hiya, I’m Ellyn, A midlands-based wedding videographer who focuses of capturing memories with profound authenticity and style, without causing a fuss. If you are getting married at Kelmarsh Hall and are looking for a videographer to film your wedding in all its glory then I’d love for you to get in touch. Some 2024 wedding dates are still available. Thanks, now on to the article.
From the first moment I spoke to Steph and Tim I knew their Kelmarsh Hall wedding was going to be special. Not because it was set in a beautiful country house but because both of them have so much heart and charm. I just knew that their wedding video would be full of romance and sentimentality. Steph is an amazing teacher with so much energy and kindness and Tim is a commercial pilot and flight instructor who recently nailed his dream job. Both are really funny. Steph is a bit goofy and Tim has a dryer sense of humour but both of them will have you cackling within a few minutes of chatting with them. They ordered my £1350 Thorough Package which includes a 15 minute Feature film, 3 minute Highlight wedding video, a 1 minute teaser (perfect for socialmedia) and the Ceremony and Speeches in full. Here are their wedding videos and the story of how their day went.
I was jazzed to start the filming day so I arrived at Kelmarsh Hall very early. Harriet greeted me at the doors. Her professionalism and willingness to show me around was a refreshing change of pace. I scouted out the house and pristine gardens looking for the perfect places to film. Just a helpful hint, if you are looking to have a Kelmarsh Hall Wedding but don’t know what time of year is best I can highly recommend late May. The delphiniums were in full bloom and the entire walled garden was so vibrant and fragrant. It was a wedding filmmaker’s dream.
Steph got ready in the bridal suite at Kelmarsh Hall. She had 4 bridesmaids, plus 2 hair and make people, 2 videographers, 1 photographer, 1 seamstress (who was making some emergency dress alterations) and Steph’s dad and STILL the room didn’t feel too packed. My one criticism would be that it is somewhat of a basement room so the windows were quite high up. There was limited natural light. If we had more time I would have loved to take the dress to the foyer and get some special shots there. Alas we made due with what we had and carried on.
I popped over to their home where Tim was getting ready. Groom prep is always a lot easier to film so I was there about 15 minutes, got some shots of then scooted off to the church.
The wedding itself took place at St Peter and St Paul Church in Harrington, not 10 minutes down the road from Kelmarsh Hall. The ceremony was covered by 4 cameras, which is essential if you want to capture the ceremony in full. Their dog Ziggy delivered the rings bringing a big smile to everyone’s face. The couples said “I Do”, smooched, did the whole confetti thing and then it was time to head back to Kelmarsh Hall.
The guests were greeted by the sounds of an acoustic guitar player and a glass of fizz. The couple arrived shortly after in a vintage green sports car driven by the groom. We got some family shots, couples portraits, and then everyone sat down in the dining room for the speeches. When the final toasts were complete the meal was served and I got to have a well deserved break.
The evening consisted of a live band, sparklers and fireworks from the back of an aeroplane. Now that’s something you need to see to believe. The whole day was so elegant and personal to the happy couple. The fireworks were an exceptional ending.
I knew that this wedding video would be a feast for the eyes and I would have lots of really lovely soundbites to choose from but I didn’t expect to love the editing process as much as I did. This wedding was special. One of those weddings that you cant get out of your mind. Now, months later it is still one of my favourites.
I am happy to say that I have built a bit of a connection with Kelmarsh Hall and I am one of their Preferred Suppliers and my work features on their website. I cannot emphasise enough how much of a treat it was to film there.
P.S. 04/02/2023 – Little update on the happy couple. In a few short months Tim and Steph will be welcoming a new trainee pilot to the family. I literally screamed when I saw Ziggy’s Instagram post (yes, I follow their dog on Instagram. Wanna fight about it?) I am just so so happy for them both. All this happiness is very well deserved.
